The vine
Docg piedmontese vine cultivated in the hills around Acqui (AL) and in an area
between Alessandria and Asti, including other 26 communes. Even if the first
ampelographic documents date back to 1800, we have evidence since Roman times.
Brachetto vine leaf is wholly orbicular or rarely trilobated, with conical or pyramidal
bunch. Grape is ellipsoidal shape with a consistent, lightly pruinose and
dark black-violet skin.
Organoleptic-sensory notes
Transparent, colourless, it distinguishes itself by refinement of perfume that is in the
meantime marked with a light floral note; taste is dry but pleasant at palate.
Excellent as digestive after meal and with milk or dark chocolate, good also with small
pastries, cookies or tartlets.
Temperature of service
Grappa is used to be drunk between 9° - 13° C, ideal temperature especially for new,
aromatic grappa. If you have any doubts, it would be better to taste grappa in a cooler
way, in fact, before drinking it, it is always possible to warm it holding the glass in the
palm of your hand.
